If you thought Facebook was taking over your online life, you would probably want to be warned that it will soon be sold at stores – in plastic encased lime and black cherry drink form.
Vitamin Water’s newest flavour, called ‘Connect’ is called its ‘Facebook flavour’, even bearing the ubiquitous white-on-blue logo on its label. The label makes playful references to friend requests, untagging, and other Facebook functions, which says:
“…And since you’ve been so busy pretending to not notice friend requests for about 3 days, posting pics of events that you’re still at, and clicking through photos of ‘friends’ you barely know…better crack open this bottle. It’s got 8 key nutrients from vitamin a to zinc…because based on last night’s pics, it looks like you’ve got some serious untagging to do.”
The unlikely partnership stems from an online competition that Vitamin Water held on Facebook, asking users to design a flavour. The winner, according to the Facebook page, is Sarah from Illinois, who sent in the recipe for the black cherry –lime flavour, complete with 8 nutrients and caffeine.
Facebook Vitamin Water will flood stores across America starting March.
